Maine Big Night Kick Off
I was so pleased when Greg LeClair invited me to sign copies of SAFE CROSSING at the Maine Big Night – Amphibian Migration Monitoring fundraiser at Maine Beer Company last night. It was really inspiring to see such a vibrant volunteer community turn out for amphibian conservation and launch amphibian migration season with such a joyful celebration: pizza, beer and enthusiasm. Congratulations, Greg, and to all of the Maine Big Night organization.
I loved hearing everyone’s amphibian stories, meeting nature artist Michael Boardman, meeting Leona, a spotted salamander who was regenerating herself in a spectacular recovery from a spinal injury, and hearing Greg’s presentation on the thousands of lives of frogs and salamanders saved from roadway death by volunteers on rainy nights in spring. I was so happy to be able to help fundraising for this cause.
