“Don’t worry – I fixed it.”

Here is my submission for the First Look Illustration Challenge at the Society of Childrens’ Book Writers and Illustrators New England Conference starting today. The project is to illustate the text “Don’t worry, I fixed it.” any way I want. It took me a while to find the right inspiration. Until I hit upon the idea of a play date and doll beauty parlor gone wrong. I was inspired by a tiny drawing of dolls by my hero Lynda Barry from her awesome book Down the Street. Wish me luck! Hope I see you there.
