You’re invited to Somerville’s First Agricultural Festival on Oct. 1, 2016, from 3-7 PM. Its the inaugural event for the new ArtFarm, 10 Poplar Street, Somerville, MA, a free public festival to celebrate urban farming and the arts in Somerville. There will be interactive activities, demos and exhibits from urban farmers, bees, art, chickens, music, food, a square dance, and more! Hope to see you there!
I made this wood cut poster for the festival. Do you like it? Hand-printed woodcut prints will be for sale there, $30/each. Look for the Somerville Arts Council Booth.
Five dollars from each sale will help fund Boston Area Gleaners, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to stopping hunger by rescuing surplus farm crops and distributing the food to local food pantries and free meal programs. Working closely with local farmers, volunteers harvest what would otherwise be plowed under. Interested in volunteering to help feed the hungry? Come glean!
